Last month we reported on the “Enjoy The Silence” reinterpretation made by Mike Shinoda for Depeche Mode’s “Remixes 81-04” greatest hits: remixed triple CD set, and the reactions from the Depeche Mode fan base. So now we ask, what do Linkin Park fans think of the track?
As with the majority of the Depeche Mode fan base, the reinterpretation was quite well received by Linkin Park fans. LPU member lucyb85 proclaimed “I really like it. It has that LP feel to it but he hasn't changed it that much. It remains truthful to the original in that way. Less can be more“ whilst ADD1369 added: “It's decent. I'm glad it still sounds like "Enjoy The Slience". I hate remixes where everything is altered. It just sounds kinda like a version of a rock song you'd hear at a club.”
Most people though, seem to liken the track to “Numb”. Though the synthesized piano notes do have a small representation in them, is it safe to say that Linkin Park fans are drawn towards piano beats as a representation of Mike Shinoda’s doing? As quite a few people, myself included, don’t hear a representation at all.
