In June 2004, a unique set of remixes hit radio stations accross America, these remixes, known only as "Mash-Ups" have since garnered a lot of response, including a whole MTV show based around the idea. A mash-up is essentially a track made of 2 or 3 songs from different artists, usually of different genres and musical backgrounds. One remix that hit fans hard was a startling version of Linkin Park's "One Step Closer" & "1Stp Klosr" with Jay-Z's "99 Problems", entitled "99 Steps Klosr".

On July 18th, MTV set up a secret show at Los Angeles' Roxy Theatre. Packed full of screaming Linkin Park Undergrounders, the show saw an un-matched series of collaborations with big-name Hip-Hop artist Jay-Z. On July 30th, MTV set up a secret show at New Yorks' Roxy Theatre.

i just want to make a correction...... it was Sunday July 18 at the Roxy Theatre in Hollywood(Los Angeles), California where MTV set up the taping. there were about 200 people there 1/2 LP fans 1/2 JZ fans....and every single one of us left that night blown away by the incredible, amazing, spectacular, unbelievable performance that we had experienced. i know myself and several others thought to ourself during the show "damn, i am so lucky to be here right now". i can't wait for mtv to air it so everyone who wasn't there will finally know what we've been raving about. i actually mentioned to mike and chester after the show that a great addition to LPU 4.0 package would be a dvd or even just the audio of that performance. i hope this release set for Nov 30th will actually happen, i knew they would. not only did the fans realize how special this performance was but so did the performers...it was too special to be simply condensed into 20 min on MTV.

I thought I'd made an error there, but I wasn't sure. I'll just fix it. Thanks.
