Ok, so I've finally worked out how to do the whole flash video thing, and this is an idea that I had ages ago. Basically, each week I will upload a new video into the "Streaming Video" section of the website, or maybe even a few days. All the video's will be from my own collection, and I suspect quite a few of you will not have seen them before.

Do you think this is a good idea?
- If not, why?

How often do you think it should be changed?

Do you think it should be on request like the audio, or just to my choosing?

I'm 50/50 towards the idea, I mean you already give up alot of ur time updating the website.. changing the songs (in that 10 seconds) every day of the week!.. Yeh if you wanna u can put on new streaming videos but i rekon u should only change them evry 5 days or week.. something like that..

If LP had awards..like for best fan site.. i'd vote urs!! Yours is truly the only one that is dedicated to the fans.. even giving up his time!!

It's no trouble time wise. It takes about 30 minutes to make it, upload it, etc.. Plus all my time is spent on the website anyway.
I aim to give people what they want. They want rare and exclusive files, so I give them to them. I aim to be different in the way I run my site. Any site can upload some pics and audio and everyone goes apeshit about how good the site is, even though it's not. I'm just trying to prove that there is a lot more to fansites than that.

The IMA's might be coming up again soon, there's a thread in this forum about it, and I came around the 250 mark last year. That was when I was getting bout 30-40 hits a day, now I get almost 1000 *shrugs*

I think it's a good idea... It's again something extra to the site.

I would say, keep it a week up and change it then. That way everybody get the chance to watch it, cause I'm sure that not everybody goes online everyday... It's just us weirdos really... ;) Anyway, if you keep it up that long, that you probably gonna have less replies asking to put it on again cause they missed it or something like that.

Requesting or by your choosing... all the same by me. :)

How do you change the file from flash (swf) to avi?.. becuase changing the file extention doesn't work (if you want the video just go to your temporary internet files)

EDIT: All I know was it was played at Ozzfest (I have A Place For My Head & Papercut from there too)

This is the BEST fan site I've ever seen! You really know how to deliver... :thumbsup:
I think what makes your site so special is your amazing knowledge of LP, your attention to detail, and all your obvious hard work and dedication to give the fans something more than a generic cut and paste fansite. You've done an awesome job and I'll happily contribute what I can when I get back from the Mansfield show next week.

Now to get back on topic...how about having a trivia contest on LPU weekly, the winner gets to choose the "video of the week". You could also tie this in to LPU's referal contest, if you're participating in that ...just a thought.
