Title: [22nd March 2004] - [5:15pm]
Description: NPPL Super Seven Results

Static Confusion - March 22, 2004 05:35 PM (GMT)
Linkin Park have lost their match against B-Real's Stoned Assasins.
A few short review's are below.

"Me and elpolloloco went down there today, got there at around 10:30. We watched some games until about 1:30 or so, and that's when LP got there, walked the field, and took some pictures. Rob, Brad, and Phoenix were playing. They started their game at around 3, and played against the Stoned Assassins (with B-Real from Cypress Hill). They were seven man teams, so they had some buddies of theirs play with them. To put it bluntly, they got raped, worked, had their asses handed to them, take your pick. It was quite entertaining, and me and elpolloloco were laughing. To top it all off, we got the whole thing on video, and got pictures, but we don't know how they're gonna turn out, since there was glare from the sun, and a mesh net that was getting in the way. Rob was actually wasn't bad. He was really getting into it. Phoenix and Brad were on the other side of the field, so we couldn't see too much of them. After it was over, they played Don't Stay, announced that LP was leaving, and we took off. It was gold."

"Today has been surreal. Just When you thought it was safe to go back to the beach couldn't have been any truer. I never new there were so many people in the world. Getting from one end of the vendor village to the other was almost impossible.

The grandstand was splitting at the seams from early on and the outside media coverage of this one event has probably surpassed the combined coverage of every other event put together. The LA times ran articles and pics. FOX were here filming, Channel 7 spent the whole day here on Friday and Rolling stone will be doing an article on Everlast and his passion for Paintball. If you thought all of that was special - the sight of B-Real, Everlast and their Stoned Assassins taking to center court against LINKIN PARK was unreal.

When a convoy of blacked out RVs entered the VIP carpark at around eleven this morning, we all thought it would be the same old fleeting Celeb visit. How wrong we were. The LINKIN boys were stars. These guys were so keen to play. We even managed to keep Mike, Pheonix, Mr Hahn and Rob from the band, waiting for a few hours whilst key semifinal games were complete. They had no intention of just sitting in VIP and knocking back the beers. They jumped into their specially prepared kit from Raven, their NXe pads, Empire trousers and Angel markers and got down to some serious practices with WDP's Matt 'the gunslinger' Green. Considering they had had very little practice the guys aquitted themselves well against a drastically improved and focussed Stoned team (truth is Stoned asassins whipped them).

After the game they spent some time on the WDP booth signing Angel posters. I thinks its probably just best if you just take some time to look through the pics.
