In the beginning of January, the band Linkin Park presented DC a framed award that holds three platinum plaques, one for each million copies the band’s new album, Meteora, has thus far sold. The award also bears an inscription that reads “Presented to DC Shoes to commemorate 3,000,000 units sold.”
DC Shoes and Linkin Park have had a relationship for a few years now—the band’s MC, Mike Shinoda, and other band members have repped DC gear on stage, on TV, and in videos. Mike has visited the DC’s private Vista warehouse to watch Colin skate, and Colin and Ellis have been spotted backstage at Linkin Park shows. Colin even blasts Linkin Park while skating.
The award is currently hanging in Pam Zam’s office, although its final home at DC’s offices has yet to be determined.
