Hi Every1
Newbie Here With a good Question.
Mark Wakefield, Previously of XERO, now manager of Taproot, made a Single entitled "Ground Xero" which is supposed to be a tribute of some sort to his former band "Xero" and Bandmates "Mike Shinoda" & "Mr. Hann". I have searched high and lo and connot for the life of me discover this track. Was it ever released? Was it a Web only single? I have found many Foruma that people have posted the song for download but they are all so old that the link is nolonger good.
Any help would be great
FLAPPZ!

Ground Xero isn't about his former bandmates. It's never even been 100% confirmed to be Mark, although it sounds like him singing. Here's the scoop:
I first came across this track on Kazaa back in 2003/4 while searching for some songs. I had typed in Xero, and a song labeled "Wakefield - Ground Xero.mp3" popped up. Now, I know there's a band called Wakefield, so my first thought was it might be them, but the spelling being "Xero" intrigued me, so I downloaded it. Needless to say, I quickly found out that it's not the band Wakefield (they sound like Good Charlotte pretty much), and the singer sounds like Mark. At the time, I traded with a guy named Gary from the LPST (he's not active in the LP community anymore, he got married and has a kid now), and he had actually met Mark and spoken to him several times. He told me that after Mark left Xero, he briefly thought about starting another band or having a solo career, and recorded a couple demos with some friends of songs he had written. He wasn't sure if this is one of them, and he never managed to find out, couldn't get in touch with Mark. Mark obviously ended up abandoning a career in making music and went into a behind-the-scenes role, most notably as Taproot's main A&R rep. I felt that was solid enough information to start trading the track with people, and it quickly made its way through the LP trading circle.
So Mark did do some demos after leaving Xero, and this is likely one of them. It hasn't been confirmed either way, but I believe it's him and nobody's managed to come up with any reason to believe otherwise.
