Title: Mike Shinoda Solo Speculation Round 2
Description: 14th February 2005 - 10:30AM

Following December's news that Mike Shinoda would be "working on a hip-hop project", MTV have added fuel to the flames by announcing that he will, infact, be producing a solo record.
The news comes after Mike and Joe attended the Roots annual Pre-Grammy Jam Session, at the Key Club in Hollywood, California.
For the Roots' drummer/spokesperson, ?uestlove, rubbing shoulders isn't happening only on the stage this week. A bevy of artists out here for the ceremony have been hollering at him to produce their albums.
So far, he says, his dance card is filled with Common, Musiq and Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park, who's working on a solo album. With all his hobnobbing, the Grammys are the last thing on his mind.Click here to read the full article.

.
I dont know about you guys.. But personally, I think the idea of Mike having working on a solo album at this stage would be unappropriate... Don't get me wrong.. I'm sure he would do well individually.. But to do it after only two studio album...Humm I don't know...

By the time it's released, there may be 3 studio albums, for all we know :) Anyway, I think a solo album might be interesting...

I'd definately buy it, simply because I know how well he raps. It would also be interesting to see who he collaborates with as well. I'd personally like to see him collaborate with the Neptunes or him and Jigga have a one on one single. That'd definately be hot

I have shows from 2000 right through to 2004, Mike has always said stuff like that. Live In Texas is a bad representation of Linkin Park's live show, it was dubbed over with the album audio.

K, Granted LIT is a bad example but when i saw them live in 2003 at the nia in birmingham england, mike was different, i think mike is one of the most talentet musicains on the planet, and i suppose "hip-hop" is hardly the devils music but i would love to see mike get more aggresive in his lyrics, he done a top job on breaking the habit though, lyrics so good that its scary :ph43r:

I guess. Mike is from hip-hop roots though, he grew up with it.
I don't think think doing a solo 'hip-hop' album will affect LP's music though. The band have always been sure to keep side projects to side projects. Reanimation didn't really affect Meteora, neither did "It's Goin' Down", so I don't think theres anything to worry about.
Let Mike do hs projects, it's something he's always wanted to do. There's nothing better than to see a musician accomplish his goals, and he finally has the chance to do so :)
Maybe we'll get to see more aggresion in his lyrics. Take "It's Goin' Down", "Rock and Roll..." and "Standing In the Middle" as examples, Mike is a very talented EmCee, and this is his chance to shine.

I've heard of that too. He's collaborating with different artists.I think it's exciting.

I'm looking forward to the release of it. I don't think it will affect the band's music at all. I love the idea that he's doing it!
